I was so captivated by it all that it has become the greatest story I was ever told.

This is a story my husband told me one time shortly after we married. While I will not know the truth to this story any more than he would, I was so captivated by it all that it has become the greatest story I was ever told. It’s probably best to regard this all as fiction, even though it wasn’t told that way. Assuringly, I never felt bewildered by that concession. I hope you like it at least half as much as I do.
My husband told me of some strange memories he had from the time before he was alive, when he was a small child. He recalls being an alien, and given a console in a dark room with which he selected his own parents, part of the world they lived in and all, and decided to be born into that. He was accompanied by a nameless companion, someone who seemed like a brother but greater, who told him that he might come after him as well. After choosing, he was then sent across the universe to be born, as an original beam of consciousness.
He has speculated intensely on what the purpose of that may have been. He says he was not alone, as in there was some larger purpose besides himself to why he was to come here to earth. He doesn’t know what that would have been. He has told me that such beings weren’t against being remembered or anything of the sort, in fact they wanted to be remembered better, but human bodies are poor carriers for that kind of information.
The purpose of his visit is speculated to be some kind of experiment of theirs. He believes that any beings who exist in higher dimensions are, as far as we know, only interested in entropy, as being beyond our conception of time and space leaves the entirety of it to their perusal. More topically, the appearance of monoliths these days he has said may reflect that as well. He consistently notes things that could be reflections of interactions by higher-dimensional creatures.
I love my husband dearly, more than anything I know. I like to speculate that I am his Great Brother, who went after him after all, because I care about him and am part of his mission here on earth, whatever it may be. But that is just my belief. We will probably not know for a long time, long after we’re dead, what the solution to these mysteries could be. As a matter of fact, this is still merely a vision, or a story. But I’m sure one day there will be something of fact to it all.
Hey! Thanks for reading. This one is a republishing, so it’s a free read, as before. I run this Substack to help break myself out of relative poverty and earn the white collar lifestyle I was not endowed with growing up. It’s $5.55/month to subscribe, or $55.55/year. That’s like the Interstella movie, or something. Think Daft Punk. Totally worth it.
